Those of you that have had a listen to the new Eargasm radio will have heard these stompers. Plus these are on a new server so let me know how it works for you. Smells Like
Alright, Party People. Let's settle down! I want you to step back & take a deep breath. We've been throwing a lot of reworqz your way....which I know can be pretty damn exciting, but it's time to take a spin in another direction and enter the realm of House!! Not just any house, though....but the kind of House that gets your body moving!
Alex Gimeno (Ursula 1000) was nice enough to send me his latest remix....and it kicks azz!! He takes the 60's hit by The Yardbirds and demolishes, devastates, destroys & deconstructs it into a delishious delight!
Steve Murano - Own Way 08 (House Work Mix) There are so many variations of this remix, it's almost impossible to keep pace. So I don't really know if this one has been posted before, or if the name was changed just to confuse us more.
♫♫♫ | Streetlab - "NY Sound" Streetlab is an electronic-rock music duo from NYC formed in late 2001 by Mark (Coz) Lamorg and Ryan Leary. Taking the role as in-studio producers and songwriters, the two began by remixing classic rock songs with the dance-floor in mind. Being raised on the music scenes of the early 90's, the two attempt to erase boundaries - making music that appeals to both rockers and dancers. By early 2008 the two had began releasing original material, starting with the song 'NYSound'. www.StreetLab.net
I did put up the rule on top of the Chatbox, but I guess that some people are not reading them, so I decided to put up a special post just for it.
Do not spam our chatbox, meaning that we don't want people to advertize their own blogs, websites or forums. There will be no exceptions and I will delete all spamming posts as soon as I see them.
The chatbox is there for "chatting", requesting specific tunes, sharing tunes and mixes or giving infos about things that relate to the blog. If you want us to link our blog to yours, just ask Darryl, he'll be the one deciding if he wants it or not.
Simioli And Marchesini - Because The Night (Fender Mix) Excellent reworq, like it a lot. And please people don't post up comments about how you don't like it because it's not really Patti Smith who's singing ... it's a REWORQ !
Ali Payami Vs Warp Brothers - Blade (Ali Payami Original) I like this one a lot, this is quite close to the original version. It's a little slower though, they also kept much of the original trademark sound of this classic trance anthem. I would use it during a set as a surprise tune, it's so well known, I guess
it wouldn't be very hard to get a good reaction.
Here are more special deliveries from the mailboxxx!
♫♫♫ | Khan Edison Vs John Cougar Mellencamp - "Rock On (Jack & Diane)" Borrowing samples from John Cougar Mellencamp's 80's rock hit "Jack & Diane", Khan mixes tribal breaks with big room guitar riffs which follow this incredible song throughout its progressive structure, ending in a huge elektro-tech explosion.
"Just thought I'd give you the heads up on my latest attempt to ruin a classic song. This time it's "Creep" by Radiohead that gets a somewhat electro makeover."
"I'm fully aware of the fact that people will go insane with regard to my choice of track - some cows are holier than others... And I could probably say a thousand things about the why and wherefores of ruining this tremendous song. But for once, I think I'll just keep my mouth shut. I'm sure you'll have a firm opinion regardless."
I know that I do. It's pretty damn good!
♫♫♫ | Junior Jack vs Eric Prydz - "E Samba Pjanoo (Beat Thrillerz Mash Up Mix)" BEAT THRILLERZ is the newest project from producer Mickey Bono, along with songwriter Hurley Constantine. He has also been DJing for 11 years and has held several residencies in Orlando, FL. He currently plays at Bliss Ultra Lounge for "Seductive Saturdays", Backroom for "Sugar & Spice" on Wednesday, & Club 23 for "Liquid Therapy" on Thursdays. Hurley is the owner of Voyage Nightclub & The Red Light District & Iceland Lounges. Mickey and Hurley have been working together writing songs for seven years. BEAT THRILLERZ is their newest collaboration project. www.myspace.com/MickeyBono www.myspace.com/BeatThrillerz
♫♫♫ | Dani Deahl & Mike Gillenwater - "The Sound of Disco" "The Sound Of Disco" is the first collaboration track between Chicago artists Dani Deahl and Mike Gillenwater. Dani has previous records out with labels like Lazy Days, Hot Sauce Recordings and Detour while Mike Gillenwater is heavily involved in the Nine Records camp. "The Sound Of Disco" is a synth-driven tune that combines both Mike's affinity for minimalism and Dani's love for dirty, peak-hour sounds. www.myspace.com/danideahl www.myspace.com/mikegillenwaternine
♫♫♫ | Chubby Fingers - "Into The Night" Nice housed-up remix of a song from the Beat Street soundtrack originally performed by La La. I'd like to thank Chubby Fingers for sending me this one. Well done!
Here are two nice elektro remixes of two Queen's mega hits. They are basically the originals with some elektro sound pasted over them. Not the best one I've seen but some people here may want them anyway.
I am so loving what Klaas is doing these days. He takes 2 songs that I don't really care about, and gives them a dynamite sound!! Typical-Klaas...but I thoroughly enjoy his electro style!!
As most would say on the tv show American Bandstand...."It's got a nice beat & you can dance to it!"
You sure can, sparky. It's got a cool funky beat, with the slightest touch of electro.....and who can pass up those fantastic Presley vocals. Fun little song.
I wasn't sure about posting these two as they are not exceptional remixes, but since I've been posting like an animal recently, I said what the heck ! And posted them anyway.
Notice the use of an alternate uploading service, it's Polish. It seems to work well, at least for me. Try it and tell me what you think about it, I know some people have had trouble with Driveway (the best service so far IMO), and since I'm such a good guy I decided to give this one a try. To download click on "Pobierz mp3" and then on "kliknij tutaj" in the second page.
$$ | Armando Junior - Otherside (How Long Mix 2008) Unfortunatly this song has been remixed more times than Paris Hilton has had boyfriends. This one is not bad, there is even some latin strings added, it's not the type of remix that would light up the dancefloor but it could be played at the end or the beginning of a night.
$$ | Discorama - Giddy Up A Go Go (Henry John Morgan Rmx) I don't much care for the original of that song, but what grabbed my attention was the use of Daft Punk's "Da Funk". Usually when a Daft Punk sample is used, it betters the song. This one's no exception.
With Dr Sinister go post-crazy (I love it!), I should probably do my part to try and keep up. Let me begin by doing something that I'm terrible at: Posting cool tunes that are sent to me.
I really need to better a job in that department, but I get so many of them it gets hard to keep up! Anyway...here are few that were sent in. Hope you enjoy them!
♫♫♫ | Daft Punk - "Fresh (pat swayzak remix)" Pat, formally of the Ghetto Monkeys, recently sent me his remix of this Daft Punk tune. Don't wait another second to try this one out!
"Your blog rules! DE is the best house blog out there!!! You guys rock. - Pat Swayzak
♫♫♫ | Estelle feat. Kanye West - "American Boy (LAZRtag Remix)" Luvtek (who sent me this song) & StellarDrv are the 2 geniuses behind LAZRtag. With influences like MSTRKRFT, Cut Copy & DeadMau5, it's no wonder that their style of electro/house is on the rise. Be sure to check out their own single "Work is Play" at the following site. myspace.com/lazrtag
John Lord Fonda - Personnal Jesus Found this one on a French Touch Compilation, as you may guess it's from a French producer. Call me bias but this one is excellent.
Alice Deejay - Better Off Alone (Electrodirt Remix) An elektro remix that makes this one "listenable", almost no vocal, so that's better than the original. Anyway it's a rather generic remix, but a nice one.
I got this release yesterday, there was 4 different remixes inside but I decided to only post the best two. The other ones were more in the hardstyle kind of house.
Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby 2008 (Mondo Electro Remix) Even if this one is not my favorite, I still find it good enough to be posted. It's more of a classic elektro remix, a lot of added elements to keep it interesting. A lot of the original vocals too.
Black Eyed Peas - More (Matias Rott Electro Rmx) Also known as the "Pepsi" song. This remix is not bad at all. I don't like the BEP that much, but this remix is tolerable for me. It could be useful at the Club when they ask you for the original but you're stuck around the 128 BPM mark ;)
I found those remixes yesterday and I thought that people might be interested in them. They are from a 1996 release called "The Sequel".
I took out the radio edits and only posted the extended versions. Those are great remixes for the time IMO, and they don't sound too dated. Give them a listen, you won't be disappointed! But remember folks, it's from 1996, that's 12 years ago, so don't expect something "fresh" ;)
Schössow & Brandt - Horny (Audiogasm Remix) Another nice piece of dirty elektro, great work ! I kinda like the fact that it is faster, the vocal is cool and there are also some cool synths throughout the tune.
Timbaland - The Way I Are (Crookers Edit) I usually don't like to post up edits as I find them irrelevant most of the time, but I decided to go against my usual line of thinking and post this cool edited version of Timbaland cool hit done by Crookers. I feel the added breaks, sound effects and overall heavier sound really increase the song's coolness factor.
The above skit is probably the funniest one I've ever seen. For fans of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Office & The Colbert Report, you will know the 2 participants. They are Steve Carell & Stephen Colbert, and they were featured players on the too-short-lived comedy sketch tv program The Dana Carvey Show.
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Can't Stop (N.O.T. Remix)(Link Fixed) Some people may like this one, this is not original at all. But since it's such a great song I thought that some people may want it anyway.
Here are 2 fantastic electro-house traxx. Top-notch all the way around. The 1st one reworqz the new wave classic by Gary Numan and the 2nd one samples Fleetwood Mac's "Go Your Own Way"
Here is a cool German hip hop song that I stumbled upon. BTW their name means "The Fantastic Four". This tune has a nice hook, with guitar sounds and some cool synths in the background.
Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby (Benny Benassi Remix) Benassi is at it again with this unforgettable "Hip Hop" classic, as usual everything Benassi produces sounds the same until he gets tired of the sound. So yes, this remix sounds like the last ten he did. But it's still a cool remix nonetheless.
AC/DC - Thunderstruck (Crookers Remix) I really like what Crookers are doing these days, nice dirty elektro in all its glory ! Breaks and sample effects all over the place, it rarely works for me but they have their own cool sound to make it happen.
♫♫♫ | Britney Spears - "Break the Ice (twisted dee remix)" I never paid much attention to the original of this. For some reason, it just never carried my attention. But after hearing this remix, I just might have to change my thinking.
Uh, Oh. Part One? That implies that there might be a part 2, 3, 4...etc. Yep, that is what will happen. After all, that is why I started this place. Reworqz, Reworqz, and more reworqz!!
Topmodelz - Your Love (Mondo Remix) Classic song from The Outfield, sorry if it's a repost, I can't remember if this remix has been posted before... anyway, since I really like Mondo's work nowadays, I thought about posting that one. Very elektro, in a good way :)
