This is a farewell post to Nick Jay.... A Sydney DJ for the past 8 years & a personal friend to me for the past 5 of those years!
I've posted a few things in the past on Nick Jay from tracks that he produces with the vocals of people such as Peter Millwood & Nicole Tyler to mention a few...
I'm upset that i was working at the same time as his last set on Saturday at Stonewall Middle Level where his held the residency there for at least 4 or maybe more years going by memory.
Stonewall is a club located on Oxford St in Darlinghurst SYDNEY. It contains 3 levels... The 1st level you'd swear blind that you've walked into a girls club... lol moving onto the second level this is where the House / Funky house tracks can be heard & has always been the level to hang out on (if your not one of the girls... lol) Stonewall is still a club on Oxford St that doesn't have a cover charge but contains 2 & someones 3 levels with well known DJ's around the traps!
Nick Jay has also spun tunes at Arq Sydney, Manacle, Midnight Shift, The Imperial to mention a few.
5 years back i never had a thought of being a DJ... I worked in the corporate world opening retail stores all around Australia for Danoz Direct....! (But wait theres more)! lol
At the beginning of 2006 when Danoz Direct fell apart & demerged i was made redundant from my position with a lovely payout! (gotta love it) I bought myself my equipment to teach myself how to DJ!
A few months later i asked Nick Jay to give me some tips on how to get beat mixing right cause it was frustrating me!
I'll never forget the 3 things he said to me that day!
1. "You better not be one of those DJ's that use Radio Edits mole"
2. "Your Cuing is all wrong..... Every house track has cue points & in a few months you'll hear it in every song you hear... It becomes natural to a beat mixing DJ with time... So try & be patient!"
3. "You'll be a good little DJ..... Your music selection has always been good so keep at it ... You will make it"
So out of those 3 lessons..... You'll never hear a radio edit in any of my sets! My cuing is a precise as it can be (on a good day... lol) I know I'm good.... it's obvious that I'm little & if i can get my arse into gear with sending my demo out i might make it! but I'm in no rush!
Receiving 25 approx emails from DJ's around the world requesting a mixed set by myself posted rather than single tracks on the blogs i contribute 2 is very encouraging!
So to conclude.... Farewell to Nick Jay leaving Sydney this week for the UK where I'm sure his music & deejay'ing will get him everywhere he deserves.... Even though Nick Jay can sometimes be a C * * * , at least he knows it... So that's the Nick I'll miss!
A little present for Nick Jay and for people that enjoy my selection of music.... Here is a mixed set of tracks Nick Jay has remixed & produced over the past 5 years. Nick Jay has worked under his own name as well as Lost Knowledge & Firesigns.
ENJOY!

Any way this tune started out as a bit of a laugh but now apparently is becoming a bit of a gay anthem If you play in any gay clubs try it out see what response you get from it
You need this 4 track promo in your life, No I mean it you REALLY do!!! Now I know your fingers ain't broke Because they are clicking the mouse! So leave some comments on this one.
Sometimes you need your beats to be hard....and heavy. And when that time comes, you will need to slap this in the player and then let the beats slap you upside the head.....repeatedly!!
ArtDontSleep Presents From LA with Love Just released on Milan Records earlier this month—was conceptualized by Andrew Lojero, who produces downtown LA’s ArtDontSleep underground parties. For the package, he worked closely with 16 different local musicians to collect new unreleased material from each of them; all the tracks reflect the true nature of the city’s underground music scene. There are selections from various artists like DJ Nobody, Nathan Yell, Flying Lotus, The Gaslamp Killer, Free Moral Agents (which features the keyboardist from The Mars Volta) and many more. Lojero then worked 15 local visual artists including B+, Kozyndan, Blain Fontana, Mike Crivello, Azul 213, Midzt and Kutma to develop a piece of art that was inspired by each song, all of which is featured in the CD booklet.

The Hiptones are an organic creation much greater than the sum of its parts. Over the last 6 years an eclectic group of musicians came together from the "roots" music scene in Adelaide, South Australia. The Hiptones grew and coalesced in 2005 into the current lineup of Snooks La Vie on Vocals, Brother T on Hammond and bass, Steve Smith on guitar and Miguel Garcia on the skins.
All of the vocals on 'Right Now' were recorded as first takes, with the entire album (excluding the track 'Hound Dog') created and mixed in four days at Woodstock studios. Hot from the start, with James Black producing during a Melbourne heatwave in January 2006, the Hiptones debut full-length album is a set of songs stripped back to their essence.
While Doc is away for the next few months, the rest of us Resident Deejays will try to maintain the same energy level & awesome prolific POST-i-tude that the sinister one exuded!
In other words.......we'll keep the great tunes coming & we'll enjoy doing it!!
Paolo Martini and Gianni Bini are two of the top Italian DJs who joined forces in 2000 to create Ocean Trax Records, purveyors of some of the finest European House tunes around. But before recording under the monikers House of Glass and Bini & Martini, they were both successful DJ's in their own right.
I've been invisible lately, I've been so busy recently that I was unable to contribute as much as I used to, for that I am sorry. It's going to be like this for the next couple of months.
So this post should be one of my last for the next 3-4 months. I'll be back with a vengeance by October or November, that's for sure. No long descriptions this time, sorry about that.
$$| Kanye West ft Daft Punk - Stronger Found this on another blog (I won't mention it since it seems that they copied the link from another blog, so I don't know who should really gets credit for this one)
I received 4 links to remixes done by Ari Kaisserian.
I have been recently flogging the Nick Jay Feat. Jackie Desouza - Bad Habit (Ari Kaisserian Remix) out on the dancefloors & it's getting a great reaction!
I asked Ari to do a little write up on himself, giving us all a bit of Ari's background:
I'm not a DJ as such.....just a music lover who wants to get into music production. All of my tracks are just done at home with my software and keyboard. I'm a big lover of the 80s (having grown up in it!)...and so sometimes you'll hear that influence come out in my music.
I'm Sydney based, and used to be big into the club scene, but now just like to "create" music rather than go out to listen to it.
Hopefully you'll hear more mixes with my name on them soon!
I'm happy to post the following tracks sent to me from Ari Kaisserian himself!
This is a little off topic, for Digital Eargasm, but I just had to mention the following. The 80's rock band POISON recently released an all covers CD called Poison'd, which features remakes of THE CARS - "Just what I needed," The Romantics - "What I like about you," KISS - "Rock and roll all night," among other classics. But in order to get the following track, you would have to purchase the CD at Wal-Mart.
The Disco Muts are a DJ and producer duo from Leeds. The producer is Paul Aspin and the DJ is Simon G, who was nice enough to send me this track. The following song won the One-for-One Music Unsigned Competition on Fergie's show on Radio 1 last summer. Very cool song!
As i promised a few post back.... Peter Millwood has featured in a few tracks that are worth a listen. All 3 tracks were realised by DJ Promo in Nov-Dec 2005 & hit the top 40 charts in Feb-March of 2006.
Cabin Crew & The Stafford Brothers tracks can really get a dance floor going! He also does the vocals for the Sunset Strippers version of Star2Fall (which was called Falling Stars)
Wasn't a fan of B*Witched nor did i like the radio edit to this track but the Club Mix of there track Blame It On The Weatherman released in 1999 is HOT!
This one landed in my inbox From Jef(Thanks for my First inbox tune) Asking me to post this up for all you lovely people to hear, So here ya go Don't forget to post your comments on the track for Jef to relay back

The band comprises Aaron Gilbert (also known as Mr Natural), Alex Payne, and Icelandic vocalist, Heidrun Bjornsdottir (formerly of Gloss and 4AD’S Gus Gus). Alex and Aaron have a wealth of experience in producing, making music, and running labels. Both were born out of the electronic scene, but with an equal dislike of musical boundaries - hence their cross-genre forays and remixes for the likes of New Order, The Editors, 13 Senses, Depeche Mode, Lorraine, Seelenluft, The Source, Mish Mash and more.
As a KISS fan, I've always thought that more of their songs should be remixed, besides "I was made for loving you," which has already been done enough. So I was pleased when our good friend DJ Nikko V sent me his latest worq.
I've made a little list of other traxx by Kiss that I think should be remixed (hint hint)!
